An advanced level compact camera, the successor (and in fact a modified and improved version) of the G15 model. Like the original, it is built on the basis of a 12.1 megapixel sensor capable of providing sensitivity up to ISO 12,800. The characteristics of the lens are also similar: fast (f / 1.8 – f / 2.8) optics with 5x magnification and its own image stabilizer. 3 \" display is supplemented with an optical viewfinder. The updates primarily affected the processor — this model uses DIGIC 6. In addition, the G16 has got a built-in Wi-Fi module that allows you to transfer footage and control the camera from your smartphone.

The best compact camera in this line.

It's disappointing that this wonderful camera has been discontinued.
Convenient, compact, and fast for a camera in this price range. I've been using it for almost 4 years and I'm delighted. I bought it as an additional camera to my DSLRs. In the end, I sold all the heavy cameras and only use this one. It has a lot of great night shooting modes. The "masterpiece" button exists on this camera. I hardly edit photos, just contrast and cropping.
In the very first year, all the rubber pads peeled off. Bought new ones and stuck them on, but they didn't last long either. Eventually, I tore them all off and live without them, I don't even notice their absence.
