great model, love it

Hello to everyone reading this review, I'll start by saying that I am simply delighted with this "camera," its size and capabilities are just excellent, the quality of the photos and the simplicity of operating the controls are top-notch. It is suitable for both beginners and those who have used such equipment before. My financial situation allowed me to purchase a "100" with 18-55 is stm optics, which is quite sufficient for photos at home and in nature at a short distance from the subjects, but the 135 would have been more interesting :) The price-quality ratio is excellent. Overall, very satisfied.

Modern good crop, if you don’t skimp on the lens and use a ton of flash.

Small but smart))
You just need to change the standard kit, even though you can use it if there's no Lavandoz. To 17-85 or better immediately 15-85 (ideal for crop). I personally liked the 100, previously used quite a few Canons like 400, 450, 650 but the 100 surpassed with its size, weight, new processor, the video is quite good for a beginner, the sensor is convenient and modern, in short, I'm pleased with the price and quality. I took an L 24-105 from a friend, the photos compared to the kit are like night and day (I thought after this I'd get myself a 24-105, but for crop the L is not the right level lens. I tried a 17-85 which is definitely better than the kit, but something is missing + it's a bit of a dust magnet. I read, watched, and decided to go for 15-85), for a wedding I borrowed a 50 1.4 from a friend, the photos are just super, like I became a pro, and here's where it hit me that when buying a camera, consider the sensor size and never be cheap with optics. I was lucky to have many friends to try different lenses of different levels. I liked the 100, would love a full frame of course but no funds for that yet)) but if I do switch, it'll be to full frame because I compared it with 60D crops which are mid-level between beginners and pros and didn't feel much difference, but the difference with full frame is more noticeable, and I decided to move on to full frame where you really feel the difference from the first moments of interaction))) I took Mark 2 and let me tell you guys, it's a bomb. Haven't tried other full-frame equipment, but compared to crop it's really night and day, although the price is 4-5 times higher)) Better buy an external flash. The built-in one doesn’t cut it if you're exploring caves just like all integrated ones.
for such a price, there are no drawbacks. Although there is one issue, I wouldn't say it's a major one—a large battery lasts for 700-800 shots (but that's more than advertised). During a wedding, it wasn't enough, and we had to take an intermission, but fortunately, it charged quickly and took another 700-800 shots. So, if you plan to shoot a lot, you'll need an additional battery.

good model, I liked it
1 February 2016
I really wanted a SLR camera. Friends advised this one, they say functional and not heavy.
Pictures are of high quality even in auto mode. I master manual settings and it turns out even better. Shoots quickly, sharpness is induced quickly and accurately. Cool touch screen - you can quickly and conveniently view, zoom in and out of pictures. Settings can also be changed through the screen. I was afraid that it would be heavy and bulky, but it turned out to be in vain. You can’t put it in your purse, but it didn’t become a big burden either. Hands do not get tired with it, a little more than 600g of weight is like a regular 10 inch tablet. Convenient control even for a small hand, I got used to it quickly. Shooting in RAW allows you to edit the photo later on the computer. The camera works for a long time on a single battery charge. I shot a lot in the cold, but the charge remained full.
In live view mode, the camera is frankly lagging. When photographing without a flash in a dark room, the photos turn out not very well, not clear, a lot of noise.

Video reviews

The camera from Canon holds the title of the smallest DSLR in the world for the third year in a row (since 2013). Moreover, the dimensions in no way affect the functionality, so the camera can offer decent quality footage.

Autofocus hybrid

The thickness of the DSLR practically rests on the minimum allowable limit, which is limited by the length of the working segment of Canon EF lenses. Despite this, in its body there was a place for a progressive hardware (Digic 5 processor), and on the sensor — for additional phase autofocus sensors that connect to the focus process when shooting in LiveView mode or when recording video (when the mirror is raised ). Traditional for DSLRs, the contrast focus system has 9 points with one cross in the centre. Autofocus quickly clings to the subject and tenaciously holds it even in tracking mode.

Performance

In terms of image quality and video shooting, the DSLR does not lag behind older brothers (for example, Canon 700D, with which the model shares the same 18-megapixel matrix), yielding to them only in performance. So, the maximum speed of continuous shooting is limited to 4 fps, and the memory buffer starts to choke after 7 frames in RAW format. But the camera is still not intended for reportage shooting and will reveal itself in all its glory in landscape or portrait genres of photography.

Touch control

Controls are evenly distributed throughout the small body. It is also possible to control the settings via touch input — a 3-inch screen on the back of the camera confidently responds to all actions, and the picture on it does not fade even on a bright sunny day. He only needs the ability to turn around, and the SLR itself — wireless Wi-Fi and NFC modules.

Friendly interface

Intuitive and friendly interface with a lot of hints will help any novice photographer quickly understand all the intricacies of shooting. For more advanced amateur photographers, there are HDR modes (3 frames with different exposures are glued into one to get a picture with a wide dynamic range) and night shooting (4 frames are combined into one to get the picture that is as clean as possible from noise).

Reference. The working distance of the lens is the distance from the plane of the lens mount to the plane of the camera matrix (for Canon DSLRs, its value is 44 mm).
