Fujifilm X-T50 body
![]() |
A model for advanced photographers from the middle segment of Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. The camera debuted in 2024 and received a 40.2-megapixel image sensor with back-illumination X-Trans CMOS 5 HR in APS-C format. The matrix works out the native sensitivity range from 125 to 12800 ISO units, and using software methods ISO can be expanded to 64 – 51200 units. The image processing here is handled by the X-Processor 5 processor - in addition to the face and eye recognition functions, the Fujifilm X-T50 body uses AI algorithms to track animals, birds and various objects in the frame.
The in-camera stabilization system on board the model has a declared effectiveness of up to 7 stops of shutter speed or exposure. As for the rate of fire, with an electronic shutter and image crop, the mirrorless camera shoots at speeds of up to 20 fps, without crop – 13 fps, with a traditional mechanical shutter – 8 fps. Video is recorded on the camera in a maximum resolution of 6.2K at 30 fps.
However, the crop factor is 1.23x. In 4K, video footage is recorded from the entire plane of the matrix with the same frame rate of 30 fps. The model supports the F-Log2 gamma curve profile, and it is also possible to record a signal from HDMI to an external recorder in ProRes RAW or Blackmagic Raw formats. The mirrorless camera was released in a proprietary retro design with an electronic viewfinder (2.36 million pixels) and a tilting 3-inch screen that now supports touch control. On one charge of the NP-W126s battery it is expected to be able to shoot over 300 frames (according to the CIPA standard). In the “body” package the camera is supplied without a lens.

Close Kinship
This model inherited a 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor with backside illumination from its older sibling, built-in matrix stabilization (unlike the simpler X-T30 family cameras), as well as fast autofocus with AI object recognition algorithms. At the same time, some elements of the camera's design have been simplified: there are no physical ISO and mode switch dials, no weather sealing, and no second memory card slot. Additionally, battery life is reduced—about 310 shots on a single charge according to the CIPA standard.
Developed Ergonomics
The camera's in-body stabilization compensates for movements across five axes and allows shooting with shutter speeds up to 7 stops longer without blur. Ease of use is enhanced by an OLED viewfinder with a resolution of 2.36 million pixels, a tilting 3-inch touchscreen, and separate dials for shutter speed, exposure compensation, and film simulation mode selection.
Extended Video Capabilities
The Fujifilm X-T50 records video in resolutions up to 6.2K at 30 fps (with a 1.23x crop). In 4K, the camera shoots at 60 fps with a slight crop, and at 30 fps from the full sensor area. Additional features include 10-bit color in 4:2:2, F-Log2 profile, and the ability to record in ProRes RAW and Blackmagic Raw formats via HDMI to an external recorder. As a result, the camera will be an excellent choice for enthusiastic photographers and will handle tasks of semi-professional video production.
