The flagship mirrorless camera from the Fujifilm X family, equally well sharpened for both photography and video recording. In the “inside” of the model, a multilayer 26 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HS matrix of APS-C format with back light was placed. The image processing in the camera is occupied by a powerful X-Processor 5 processor. It's no joke, it provides a burst speed of up to 40 fps with working autofocus. Video is recorded on a mirrorless camera in a maximum resolution of 4K (4096x2160 pixels) at 60 fps (from the full width of the matrix). The video quality ceiling is 10 bit 4:2:2. Through the HDMI port on board the camera, you can output to an external recorder 4K ProRes RAW or BRaw at up to 120 fps. The smoothness of the recorded video sequence is guaranteed by 5-axis matrix stabilization...with a declared efficiency of 7 shutter speeds. The additional assets of the Fujifilm X-H2S body include two slots for memory cards, a high-resolution OLED viewfinder (5.62 million pixels), a swivel screen with touch control support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless modules. An additional screen for visualizing the shooting parameters is located on the upper end of the camera body. In the “body” configuration, the mirrorless camera is delivered in the form of a “naked carcass”, i.e. without a complete lens.

Video reviews

Fujifilm mirrorless cameras have always stood out for their stylish, retro designs, and the X-H2S is no exception. This camera focuses on video recording.

High reading speed

The camera is equipped with a multi-layer X-Trans CMOS 5 HS image sensor in APS-C format with back-illumination and an X-Processor 5 processor, which allows for high data readout speed. When using the electronic shutter, shooting speeds can reach up to 40 fps with active autofocus, and the buffer can hold up to 175 frames in RAW format. The camera's autofocus system is capable of recognizing people, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles and airplanes in real time.

Video production

The camera allows you to shoot high quality video with a resolution of up to 6.2K at 30 frames per second, supporting 10-bit 4:2:2 color. 4K video can be shot at 60fps with full sensor width, as well as slow-motion 4K video up to 120fps with a 1.29x crop and no audio. The camera supports a variety of recording formats, including 8-bit H.264, 10-bit H.265, ProRes 422HQ, 422 and 422 LT. The HDMI port allows you to output 4K ProRes RAW or BRaw at up to 120 fps to an external recorder. The footage is saved to CFexpress type B or SD UHS-II memory cards, since the camera has two slots for storage devices. The camera also offers an advanced autofocus system and image stabilization that can compensate up to 7 stops of shutter speed or exposure.

Comfortable ergonomics

Despite the lack of a full-frame sensor, the camera is large and looks like a professional tool for photography and video production. It features a high-resolution OLED viewfinder with a refresh rate of 120 frames per second, a rotating touch screen and an additional info display for displaying shooting parameters on the top panel of the body. The camera body is also protected from dust and moisture. The Fujifilm X-H2S is one of the best cameras in the company's portfolio, especially for video shooting.
