Rugged and compact

The Alloy FPS was the first mechanical keyboard from HyperX. It is positioned as the optimal solution for first-person shooters.

The keyboard has a reinforced mechanical base, but is compact enough for a full-size model. There is no stand and large indents along the edges of the case, additional, including programmable keys. Therefore, HyperX Alloy FPS will not take up much space on the table.

The bottom has rubber bands to prevent slipping.

"Mechanics" and the Skeleton body

The model is equipped with Cherry MX mechanical switches. They provide full support for NKRO (correct operation even when all buttons are pressed simultaneously), fast response and durability without the “fatigue” effect (up to 50 million clicks). There are various versions of the switches themselves: Blue, Brown, Black and Red (indicated in the product name).

So, for games, the Black / Red option is better suited (fast, smooth and without tactile feedback), and for typing Brown (have a tactile response) and Blue. The last switches, however, are quite loud.

The keyboard received a Skeleton case: the keys are not covered with a plastic cover on top and can be easily removed, for example, for cleaning. HyperX Alloy FPS comes with 8 interchangeable red buttons (for numbers 1-4 and WASD), as well as handy tweezers for removing caps.

Adjustable backlight

The keyboard has a red LED backlight. No additional software is needed to configure it: all adjustments are made using the Fn button and arrows. The user can select the desired brightness level from 5 options and set one of six glow effects.

Always next to the gamer

Additional convenience in operation of HyperX Alloy FPS is given by a removable cable in a fabric braid and a case for transportation. So, a gamer can take the keyboard with him to eSports tournaments or to gaming gatherings with friends. Also on the case there is an additional USB port that can be used to recharge a smartphone or other gadgets.

The only deterrent for the gaming fan is the HyperX Alloy FPS price. More affordable "mechanics" can be found in the Bloody line from A4 Tech, the Razer BlackWidow X is cheaper, for example. But the HyperX product has additional advantages (advanced equipment, Skeleton case, compact form factor), which ensure the stable popularity of the model .
