Full-sized wired gaming keyboard in a 100% layout, released by the SteelSeries brand as part of the flagship Apex line. It is positioned in the upper price range and is designed for gamers and esports athletes who value not only the mechanics of keystrokes but also enhanced interaction capabilities with games. The central feature of the SteelSeries Apex 7 Blue Switch keyboard is the built-in OLED display located in the upper right part of the casing.
It displays information directly from games (e.g., KDA and balance in CS), notifications from Discord, current track from the player, and shows the active profile, simplifying keyboard customization without needing to open proprietary software. Macros can be recorded "on the fly" without installing SteelSeries Engine, and the built-in memory stores up to five profiles — practical for switching between computers, especially at LAN tournaments.
Keystrokes are handled by QX2 Blue clicky tactile switches with a distinct actuation point and characteristic click, with a lifespan of 50 million presses. Dedicated media keys and a metallic clickable volume control roller eliminate the need to access functions via Fn. The top panel of the case is made of aviation-grade 5000 series aluminum alloy, which adds rigidity and visually emphasizes individual RGB backlighting for each key. The package includes a detachable soft wrist rest with magnetic attachment. Additionally, the keyboard functions as a USB hub with one USB-A port, and the cable can be directed to one of three sides through guides on the back of the casing.

The keyboard looks quite restrained: a compact body and black keys. However, each of the keys is equipped with an RGB LED, which allows me to fully customize the color of the keyboard to my liking. It features raised keys and a large palm rest with full palm support and a soft touch that can be removed and fixed without tools or effort thanks to the magnetic attachment. The keyboard has the ability to save up to five user profiles. In the upper right corner are two multimedia keys. The volume wheel can also be pressed to mute directly. A small OLED display is also located in the upper right corner of the keyboard, where information about activated profiles, changed settings, or current updates can be displayed. In addition, the display may show factors related to the game or application. The keyboard has a pass-through USB port that I use to connect my wired mouse, which is very handy. Each of the keys is equipped with an RGB LED, which allows me to fully customize the color of the keyboard to my liking.
