Model overview based on user reviews
The Seagate Mobile HDD 2.5" has received mixed reviews from users. While some appreciate its thin design and find it to be a regular disk that works well over time, others have experienced significant issues. Common complaints include the drive making noise, getting hot, and having a high defect percentage. Several users reported that the drive failed after a few months of use, with problems like freezing and random shutdowns. There are concerns about its reliability, especially when used in gaming laptops or consoles like the PS4 Pro. Overall, while some users have had positive experiences, many caution against purchasing this model due to its unreliability and quality issues.

At first everything is fine, it works quickly, but you can hear the disk head working, crackling. After a month of use, the disk died, I installed a new one under warranty, I thought it was defective. About 4 months passed and the second one died, exactly the same. Now I installed a new one again under warranty, but again I started having problems with the brakes and heating. Thin It makes noise and gets hot. I'm replacing the 2nd exact same hard drive. use Seagate ST1000LM035 month or more i recommend it don't buy |
How can they even put this in gaming laptops? :( I bought a laptop that already had this drive, and it's just awful. For a laptop priced at 55k, putting such garbage at 9k when you can find something better and cheaper is outrageous. After a year and a half of use, it started randomly shutting down, and only a system reboot helped (though it still shut down again after a while). Ultimately, it was discovered that it began failing with bad clusters, and the decision was made not to repair this junk but to buy a new one, just to be safe. I will never deal with Seagate again! No Freezing, product quality, high defect percentage |
