Discreet design
Sony KD-65XE9005 is made in a minimalist design. The model received a small stand, in both racks of which you can hide the wires. The black frame around the screen, like the TV case itself, is thin. Most of the ports are on the side for easy access when wall-mounted (using VESA 300x300mm).
Bright and contrast picture
The Sony KD-65XE9005 TV has high-quality LED backlighting and high peak brightness (up to 900 cd/m2). As a result, the 65-inch panel shows good contrast and uniform colours in rooms with any level of illumination.
The saturation of the picture is especially good when playing HDR content. High brightness values do not make the image unnatural, since colour accuracy even without additional calibration is at a height. But the viewing angles of the Sony KD-65XE9005 leave much to be desired, which is explained by the VA-matrix of the model. If the viewer is on the side of the display, then the colours will look slightly washed out and distorted (grey instead of black).
Smooth picture without flicker
The panel does a good job of reproducing dynamic scenes in movies. Like the main competitors, it provides a smooth video sequence without distortion and artifacts. And Motionflow technology reduces the effect of backlight flicker and makes the picture even smoother and more pleasant to read.
The output latency level is low (34 ms), which makes it possible to use the Sony KD-65XE9005 as a monitor as well. Nevertheless, it is still lower for the main competitors (for example, for Samsung QE-55Q7FAMU it is 24 ms).
Android TV
The TV uses Android TV as a "smart" platform. The shell is actively developing, while yielding in speed to LG webOS. But its strengths include the Google Play store, which contains many applications that can expand the multimedia functionality of the model.
The disadvantages of TV include poor sound quality out of the box. The audio system is represented by only a pair of 20 W speakers without a subwoofer.
