Mark 5's lens is the same as the 3rd one. How to radically improve photos? I ask rhetorically. You can deal with photo overexposure by setting the exposure compensation to a negative value. Also, when shooting manually, set the brightness slightly lower than recommended, say minus 0.3. I shoot with Mark 3 manually and in RAW. Editing with Lightroom and Capture One turns unfinished shots into masterpieces! I adjust brightness, clarity, sharpness, colors, dynamic range (a wonderful feature in Capture One!). As a result, you can see the street through the apartment windows, and light and dark details, light fixtures, and everything around are clearly visible. Overall, the photos are sharper, brighter, and more beautiful. Of course, you can shoot in JPEG on auto, but it's better outside and in sunlight. I shot with a Fuji T10, T20 with fast Fuji prime lenses 14, 16, 18mm for 2 years. But, for example, a 16mm prime lens costs $800, and along with the body, the price is $1300 (that's used!). With a 16mm prime, it's great, but expensive. And with less bright prime lenses, it's cheaper and lighter, but indoors the Sony Rx100 Mark3 usually shoots better! And there's less hassle with post-processing. Because Fuji colors are terrible, terribly oversaturated, and turning them into a decent photo instead of an oil painting usually takes a lot of effort. Dimensions, weight, photo and video quality The price is high! |
I used to have and use the RX100M2 and was quite pleased with the photo quality, then I bought the RX10 III. Still, I wish to get the RX100M5 for trips. This model is better in terms of specs compared to my old RX100M2. Despite all the changes in models, SONY still hasn't fixed the small flaws of this line. It would be nice to see a model with the ability to protect the expensive lens from sea spray by screwing on filter lenses. Often, when we are on boats, it's a hassle to clean the lens from salty sea water. No matter how gently you clean it, scratches appear on the expensive and bright lens after a few wipes. Another small thing, there wasn't the option to rotate the lens 180 degrees before; now they have done it, but it still lacks an IR remote control like in Canon and Sony video cameras, and other brands. A small remote in hand that anyone from the side can't even notice. It’s much more convenient to take selfies with such a remote and a rotating screen than to mess with connecting via Wi-Fi and pairing a smartphone with the camera. By the time it’s set up, the group has already left and there’s no time for selfies. Here it’s instant and ready to go. That’s how I do it with my Canon camera on a tripod. Once, in a restaurant on HAWAII, a group of Japanese or maybe Koreans (you can hardly tell them apart) unintentionally watched me shoot myself with a remote, and they just applauded me; they liked it so much. So what’s the difficulty in adding a small IR receiver and a tiny remote to the camera? But overall, the camera is SUPER. Great photos come out, especially at night. It's something!!! Videos are also top-notch. There is no possibility to use light filters on the lens. There is no remote control with IR rays. It would be nice to have the body slightly rubberized. Some rubber covers are already being sold on OLX, but SONY could have made them themselves instead of releasing a crude block. |
All five generations of the Sony RX100 series of cameras are almost the standard of an perfect compact camera. Each new copy contributes to the development of the line and raises it to new heights.
improvement
In the case of the Sony RX100 V, the hand of Japanese engineers touched the autofocus system and the camera's rate of fire. The focus system has at its disposal 315 phase-type focus points, which cling to the subject in a stranglehold both in normal mode and in continuous shooting at an impressive speed of up to 24 fps. In fact, this is already a full-fledged video shooting, moreover, in RAW format and with a huge frame resolution (5472x3648 pixels).
video filming
In fact, everything is much more interesting with video recording: videos are recorded by a camera with a frame rate of up to 1000 fps, which completely freezes the fastest movements in the frame. If the quality of video shooting is a priority, it’s a sin not to choose 4K recording in the settings with such “goodies” for the operator as image stabilization, shooting in S-Log2 and focus peaking. The sound is recorded exclusively on the built-in microphone.
Fast zoom lens
The compact has got a zoom lens from Zeiss with a universal set of focal lengths of 24-70 mm and the highest floating aperture of f / 1.8-2.8. The lens surrounds the shooting parameters control ring (aperture or focus to choose from). Optics draws a wonderful picture with a spectacular background blur in the blur zone.
Miniature Companion
An uncomfortable grip in the hand (due to the lack of protruding parts of the case) and a non-touch screen can be attributed to the category of shortcomings of the model. However, in many situations it is more convenient to use a retractable viewfinder than a display, since there was a place for it in the compact body of the camera. The Sony RX100 V is a miniature photographer's companion with serious camera ambitions that will outperform the interchangeable-lens camera squad without burdening its owner with extra weight.
