A high-performance external disk array consisting of two built-in HDD drives with a total capacity of 24,000 GB (24 TB). It is the middle model of the WD My Book Duo family of external disk arrays, which consists of 6 models with capacities from 16 to 44 TB. By default, it operates in RAID 0 mode, which is a high-performance striped disk array with no fault tolerance (failure of any disk destroys data).

This mode significantly speeds up read-write performance, bringing these indicators closer to those demonstrated by SATA SSD drives. Also, the WD My Passport Ultra HDD WDBFBE0240JBK disk array can be configured to create a fault-tolerant RAID 1 array, which operates in disk mirroring (duplication) mode, reducing the standard capacity by half (up to 12,000 GB), but repeatedly increasing fault tolerance (failure of one of the disks does not lead to loss of information). In addition, JBOD mode is supported, in which both built-in HDD drives operate independently of each other. It is connected to a personal computer, workstation, all-in-one PC, laptop or multimedia player using a high-speed USB C 3.2 Gen1 interface, the throughput of which (5 Gbps) is quite sufficient for the rapid transfer of large volumes of user data.
