The Performance RAM series from the American brand PNY offers simple and effective solutions for upgrading and increasing memory capacity in inexpensive office, multimedia and gaming PCs. The key feature of the Performance series is affordable price tags and a wide selection of options, among which you can find both budget DDR4 RAM modules and much faster and more modern DDR5 RAM.

In contrast to the PNY XLR8 overclocking modules, memory from the Performance line stands out for its simplified approach to design: no radiators, no backlighting or other technical complications, there is only a printed circuit board with memory modules soldered to it and a sticker with a barcode and technical characteristics. Unlike overclockable XLR8 DDR4 memory, which operates at frequencies starting from 3200 MHz, the Performance Series memory sticks are slower and do not have such wide bandwidth.

At the beginning of 2024, active sales are dominated by Performance class DDR4 and DDR5 modules with a choice of volumes from 4 to 16 GB. There is no point in releasing rather expensive 16 GB sticks here, so the manufacturer reserves them for the XLR8 series. The standard frequency for DDR4 is 2666 MHz, for DDR5 4800 MHz. With some luck, you can also find frankly outdated Performance DDR3 RAM modules on sale in desktop and laptop variations. The amount of memory for them is limited to 8 GB, and the operating frequency does not rise above 1600 MHz.
