— PCI-E (PCI-Express) is a universal interface for connecting expansion cards to motherboards, including graphics cards. Developed as a replacement for the obsolete PCI standard. The PCI-E v2.1 version is completely identical to version 2.0 from a hardware point of view (see the corresponding glossary item) and is compatible with motherboards with a PCI-E v2.0 interface. However, it implements some of the software solutions used in the later PCI-E v3.0; when connected to a motherboard that only supports PCI-E v2.0, these functions will not be available.clear | Save List |
