Gamepads
Gamepad
— standard type of manipulator for modern desktop gaming consoles; however, it is often used for other gaming platforms, including mobile ones. In fact, now we can distinguish two types of gamepads: traditional, for desktop consoles and PCs, and mobile, for portable gadgets.A classic gamepad is a control panel with a set of buttons, levers and other similar elements. During the game, such a “remote control” is held with both hands, and the controls are placed in such a way that they can be reached without changing (or almost without changing) the grip. The equipment of modern gamepads is mostly very extensive and varied, making them suitable for almost any genre of games. Such devices can be sold individually or in pairs (for more details, see “Features– 2 gamepads”).
In turn, mobile models differ from regular ones in the presence of a mount for a gaming gadget. The type of such mount can be different; for more information about it, see “Smartphone mount”; however, the controls are in any case placed either on the sides of the game screen or below it. The connection is most often made via Bluetooth, but wired models are also available.
Also note that there is a specific type of game controllers for mobile devices – the so-called overhead gamepads. They use a mechanical principle of operation, and the equipment of the overhead controller usually consists of only two triggers for the index fingers. These triggers are connected to special “seesaw” that, when pressed, lower onto the screen and simulate touching. Such gamepads allow you to play with "four fingers" and are inexpensive, but they are only compatible with certain games optimized for them. Therefore, this type of manipulator is quite rare, and it is not included in this category.
