Rechargeable game controllers
Battery powered
— powered by a battery that is not related to standard sizes (often non-removable).This is one of the energy sources used in wireless and combined controllers (see Connection type). At the same time, batteries in such devices are much more popular than another type of autonomous power supply — batteries (see the relevant paragraph). This is due to a number of benefits. Firstly, the battery is immediately supplied with the manipulator, it does not need to be purchased separately. Secondly, such power does not require additional expenses: you do not need to constantly buy fresh batteries, it is enough to buy a controller with a complete charger once and recharge the battery as the energy reserves are depleted. At the same time, many models have a standard charging connector and also allow the use of third-party chargers and cables. Thirdly, the battery is easier to "fit" into the controller case. Fourth, with the same dimensions and weight, such power sources often have a larger capacity than batteries.
Among the shortcomings of this option, one can name, first of all, the impossibility of a quick replacement when the charge is exhausted. In such cases, the battery has to be charged, which takes some time. However, this time is usually short compared to the battery life; and many models allow use while charging (although this is associated with some inconvenience).
