Li-ion batteries

Lithium-ion

— one of the newest and most advanced technologies used in modern batteries (see “Type of cell”). The key advantages of such batteries are the combination of compact size and high capacity. In addition, lithium-ion batteries are almost not subject to memory effect. Their main disadvantages are their high price, relatively low discharge currents and sensitivity to compliance with operating rules. At the same time, the operating temperature range for such batteries is quite narrow, and overcharging, excess discharge current and other extreme situations are fraught with fires and even explosions.
