— the LR index denotes compact 1.5 V “coin” batteries made using alkaline technology. These are simpler and cheaper analogues of silver-oxide cells of the SR series (it is also “three hundredth”, a typical example is size 357, it is also SR44). LR batteries have a relatively low capacity, they are prone to a rapid voltage drop as they are discharged, and they do not handle high load currents well. On the other hand, such cells are noticeably cheaper than silver-oxide ones, and for devices with an even low energy consumption, they are the best option.Specifically, LR63 cells have a diameter of 5.8 mm, a thickness of 2.1 mm and are the smallest of the widely used LR series batteries (there are also more compact sizes, but they are used very rarely). They are also known as AG0 and G0, and the silver-oxide counterpart is 379 cells.
