— a distinctive feature of butterfly knives is the original way of unfolding and folding (by definition, they are folding). The handle of such a knife consists of two halves; when folded, they hide the blade, and when opened, they turn on hinges and reconnect. With a little practice, you can learn how to easily open a butterfly with one hand; there is also a whole art of tricks with such knives (“butterfly spinning”).
