AM/FM radio

Although the tuner can support different bands, AM and FM are the most popular today, hence the name. The FM band is familiar to many as the "habitat" of urban music stations; such broadcasting allows you to transmit stereo sound, but has a relatively small range. The AM band can be conditionally called "conversational": it has a good range, but loses to FM in quality, so such stations usually specialize in news, journalism, etc.
