— in AV receivers, this jack is usually used to connect headphones. In general, it is in many respects similar to the 3.5 mm mini-Jack port, however, due to its large size, it is practically not used in portable electronics. Very few headphones have a "native" plug of this type (most often these are top-class models, as well as professional solutions), however, the widely used mini-Jack is compatible with a 6.35 mm jack through a simple adapter, which is also often supplied with even relatively inexpensive headphones.
