— seven strings are found mostly in conventional (non-semi-acoustic) electric guitars. Usually this is the so-called baritone guitars, complemented by a seventh bass string and tuned slightly lower than usual. This provides a very tight, heavy sound, very suitable for various "heavy" genres of music.

This type of instrument should not be confused with seven-string acoustic guitars: in this case, not the “Russian” (seven-string) is used, but the extended “Spanish” (originally six-string) system.
