However the lubrication and maintenance of such mechanisms is a simple matter, and precisely due to the absence of covers. On the other hand, even with proper care, such fittings often turn out to be less durable and reliable than closed ones (not counting the fact that not every guitarist likes to constantly look after capricious mechanisms). As a result, this variant has not received much distribution.
