Pedals provide additional control capabilities, they can tie up a variety of functions - ranging from classical piano «Sastein», which gives a long sound even after the release of the key, to the turn on of the vocoder or other devices. More than one pedal is rarely required in practice, so there is one (if any) connector in the entry and mid-level synthesizers.
