— devices featuring a full-sized DisplayPort connector on one side and a smaller Mini DisplayPort on the other.

The original DisplayPort is a digital interface initially created for video signals, but relatively recently it has also enabled audio transmission. In terms of capabilities, this interface is similar to HDMI (see "HDMI – HDMI"), however, for various reasons, DisplayPort's primary application area is computer equipment — particularly Apple computers. The Mini DisplayPort is a smaller version of this connector, differing only in size; it is found particularly in Apple laptops.

Accessories of this type can be either cables or adapters (see "Type"), with adapters typically designed to connect a full-sized plug to a mini DisplayPort. It is also worth noting that the universal Thunderbolt interface versions v1 and v2 use connectors identical to the mini DisplayPort, so many cables and adapters with such a plug can also be used with Thunderbolt.
