— devices with a DisplayPort connector on one side and a VGA on the other.DisplayPort is a digital interface initially created for video signal, but relatively recently it has also allowed audio transmission. In terms of capabilities, this interface is similar to HDMI (see "HDMI - HDMI"), but for several reasons, the primary application of DisplayPort is in computer equipment: in particular, Apple uses this connector (and its mini versions) as a video output in its computers as standard. VGA is an analog video interface considered outdated: it does not support resolutions higher than 1280x1024 and does not allow audio transmission. Nonetheless, VGA devices are still in use today — notably, this standard is popular among projectors.
"DisplayPort - VGA" accessories are usually adapters (see "Type") designed to convert the signal from the digital DisplayPort output to the analog VGA format.
