Balanced digital cables
prices on 5 models Balanced digital (AES/EBU)
— cable for transmitting digital audio signal (including multi-channel) one cable with XLR connectors at each end. These connectors themselves are described in more detail in the paragraph “XLR — XLR”, the general principles of balanced connection are also described there. However, this is where the similarities between analogue XLR and AES / EBU end — they differ both in signal type and in the number of connectors. Speaking of cables, it is worth noting that a high-bandwidth digital connection places higher demands on the quality of the wire. Therefore, it makes no sense to use an analogue XLR cable for a digital connection due to low noise immunity, and a digital one for an analogue one due to the high cost (although the latter is acceptable as a fallback).
