This material was created as a relatively inexpensive analogue of jewelry platinum; it is generally expensive, but noticeably cheaper than platinum itself. The specific composition of white gold can vary, and people prone to skin irritations should wear such jewelry with some caution — if the alloy contains nickel, it can cause allergic reactions. However, jewelry manufacturers are gradually moving away from the use of this metal: today nickel is found mainly among jewelry made in the post-Soviet space, and even then very rarely. In addition, if in doubt, nothing prevents clarifying the detailed composition of the alloy.

Note that white gold can be additionally coated with rhodium. It has a positive effect on the appearance of the jewelry, however, it slightly increases its cost and can wear off over time, which is why the product will have to be updated.
