Model overview based on user reviews
The AMD Ryzen 5 Vermeer series, particularly the 5600X and 5600 OEM models, is highly praised for its performance, stability, and efficiency. Users appreciate its cold operation and powerful performance, making it an excellent choice for gaming and work tasks. The processor is noted for its high FPS in games and compatibility with various GPUs, such as the RTX 3060 and 3070. While some users mention the high price and the need for a better cooling solution due to the stock cooler's limitations, the overall sentiment is positive, highlighting its value for money and suitability for both gamers and content creators. Some users experienced issues with temperature sensitivity and BIOS settings, but these are generally outweighed by the processor's benefits. Overall, the Ryzen 5 Vermeer is recommended for those seeking a reliable and efficient CPU for mid to high-end builds.

With a difference of ~1k UAH, there is simply no point in installing the 3600.

The best processor for a basic gaming PC or for work
Upgraded from 3600 to 5600, different generations, with an average increase of about 15-20% in games and benchmarks. For the current price, it's a base with 6 physical cores for installation in any PC. TDP is 65W just like the 3600. It works paired with AMD RX 5700XT Aorus + 2x8 GB 3200 Corsair. Opted for OEM, as in this summer heat, I would have chosen an air cooler with 180+ TDP anyway.

Cold for its generation, strong growth compared to other r5.

Replacing my old R5-2600, I got an excellent, powerful processor, the 5600X. The processor fit perfectly with my Asus TUF B450-Plus Gaming motherboard (Bios:3802). It's fully compatible with the Asus TUF-RTX3070-O8G-V2-Gaming LHR graphics card and the RAM 4x8=32GB (3200MHz XMP). The cooling system installed is the Enermax T50 AXE 120 mm Black with Arctic MX-4 thermal paste. I've included a couple of test photos. If you have the chance, go for it. Wishing everyone peaceful skies and a great evening!

Best processor for mid builds or builds on 3060, 3070, 3070ti

The best processor for $150 (12/25/2022), very cold, under the be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste in the stress test 65 maximum, in idle 30-35, without overclocking. For games, the performance is enough with a margin for 1080 and 1440, the emphasis is only on the video card. Of the unpleasant moments, this is an increase in the price of motherboards with a 550 chipset, but despite this, the performance is higher than that of 11400f and a bunch of percent + motherboard will be even cheaper than a bunch of 12400f, and in some places even higher performance.

Brand New Zen 3 Core

At the end of 2020, AMD hit Intel's defenses with the release of a new generation of Ryzen Vermeer processors based on the all-new Zen 3 core. This time, the Reds set a really ambitious goal to not only beat Intel in raw processing power, but also in single-threaded performance. . To do this, the company had to completely shovel the old architecture and move to solid 8-core CCX blocks, which provide lower inter-core communication latency and speed up L3 cache access.

Impressive single-core performance

Until AMD announced the low-end Ryzen 3 Vermeer models, the rather powerful and expensive Ryzen 5 5600 is in fact the youngest member of the family. It features six multi-threaded Zen 3 cores, a dual-channel DDR4-3200 controller, and 32MB L3 cache. The processor cores operate at a fairly high nominal frequency of 3.7 GHz, and when the load increases, they can automatically overclock to 4.6 GHz, which is approximately equal to last year's bestseller Ryzen 5 3600 from the Matisse family. Compared to its predecessor, the novelty is both colder and on average 13-25% faster. And I don't care if it's resource-intensive cryptography, a stress test in Cyberpunk 2077, or a single-core Cinebench test. By the way, the guys from AMD really seriously improved the single-core performance, honor and praise to them.

For now it's better to wait

And everything would be fine if not for the price. First, by killing the dragon, AMD itself became a dragon. Therefore, no one in the camp of the "Reds" shied away from high price tags anymore. Secondly, retailers felt this moment, so at the start of sales, instead of the promised $299 for this processor, they asked for all $500. A month later, you can buy it for $400. By the standards of the mid-range Ryzen, this is still a serious amount, the same Ryzen 5 3600 will cost you $ 250, that is, the difference in performance is completely leveled by the price. Considering all this, it would be more appropriate to compare the new product with the Core i9-9900K, which also does not like overclocking (such things) and demonstrates similar results in non-gaming benchmarks, but at the same time gives out several FPS more in games and costs almost $100 more.
