Passed from platform 1155 (xeon e3-1235), system performance - heaven and earth. I took the ASUS Prime B450M-K II motherboard and the 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (3200 MHz) kit. Truly a people's processor in terms of price / quality ratio. According to tests in games, it is at the level of 5500. For home purposes, it is enough for the eyes even without overclocking. Bios did not need to be updated. I bought the OEM version in August 2020, installed an almost new CROWN MICRO CM-4 on top, for 900 rubles at the time of purchase (set it and forget it). Listen, as a person who fumbles for the coders, I’ll say don’t install a boxed cooler, apply thermal paste as you like (but in moderation), buy normal coolers, and look at the guides for installing components, otherwise you’ll be angry like others in the comments like it burned out and so on, lol defects happen everywhere buy from time-tested or trusted stores and read good comments like mine. It overclocks, doesn’t get very hot (which is not new), top clock speed, 6 cores 6 threads, the average price tag on the processor market was bought for 10 k. rub. nothing, I'm serious. The younger brother of the Ryzen 5 3600X
The Ryzen 5 3500X can be considered the little brother of the once extremely popular Ryzen 5 3600X, which helped AMD cement its leadership in the processor market a few years ago and became part of many entry-level and mid-range gaming builds.
It also has six cores on the Zen 2 architecture, an unlocked multiplier, factory overclocking, and 32 MB of L3 cache. The only difference is slightly reduced clock speeds and the lack of multithreading, meaning there are 6 cores and only 6 threads instead of 12.
Not the newest architecture Zen 2
Thanks to the unlocked multiplier, the boost clock can be raised to 4.2-4.4 GHz, which practically puts it on par with the Ryzen 5 3600X, but at a much more attractive price. However, is it worth considering in 2025? With the advent of modern Zen 3, Zen 4 and the very latest Zen 5 architectures, some may consider the Ryzen 5 3500X an outdated solution. It all depends on how you look at it.
A solution for gamers on a budget
If you're looking for a well-rounded entry-level gaming PC but need to skimp on every component, this processor is still a solid choice.
