I use the Canon EOS M50 camera to record videos in 4K mode (with a 2.56 crop, the focal length becomes approximately 56mm). The lens is very compact and inconspicuous for "street video," so no one pays attention to it - which is very important (I had to part with my 50mm "L" lens due to the "attention" it attracted). The absence of a stabilizer significantly reduces this lens's capabilities for video shooting - either use a tripod or "strap around the neck and elbows to the sides" (helps, but is tiring). It has a high aperture and decent sharpness across the field. There are no distortions at all, but keep in mind, I shoot 4K using the center of the sensor. Compared its image with other M lenses at the same focus of 22mm (56mm in 4K) - on the wide-angle 11-22mm and telephoto 18-150mm. Despite them having image stabilization, the "pancake" lens clearly wins in artistic quality, reminiscent of "film".
