This new lens embodies the concept of our new Art lenses. Our Art line delivers high-level artistic quality Sigma is organizing all its interchangeable lenses into three product lines; Contemporary, Art and Sports. Designed with a focus on sophisticated optical performance and abundant expressive power, our Art line delivers high-level artistic expression. Developed with the maximum emphasis on artistic touch, our Art line lenses are designed to meet the expectations of users who value a creative, dramatic outcome above compactness and multifunction. Along with landscapes, portraits, still-life, close-up and casual snaps, they are perfect for the kind of photography that unleashes the inner artist. Ideal for studio photography, they offer just as much expressive scope when capturing architecture, starry skies, underwater shots and many other scenes. The SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM is the first lens from the Art line. Compensate for colour aberration to ensure unsurpassed expressive performance Aberration is an important factor for the lens performance. To actualize a high-performance lens, one of the essential elements is aberration correction. When it comes to aberration, there are chromatic aberration of magnification and axial chromatic aberration. It is possible to correct the chromatic aberration of magnification in photo-editing software whereas axial chromatic aberration cannot be corrected afterwards. This lens incorporates FLD (F Low Dispersion) glass elements, which have performance equal to fluorite, and SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements, and by optimizing the power alignment of the lens, both types of aberration have been corrected. The lens achieves ultra-high image quality through the entire focusing range. Also, by appropriate alignment of aspheric lenses, astigmatism and field curvature are corrected. The result is superior optimum resolution even in peripheral areas. Large maximum aperture of F1.4 In 2005, Sigma released a lens that has aperture value F1.4 designed for digital SLRs, SIGMA 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM. Since then, we have produced high-performance lenses by incorporating the latest optical technique, such as the standard lens designed for a full size image sensor, the SIGMA 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM and the medium telephoto lens with large aperture, SIGMA 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM. This lens, SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM, is our fourth lens that achieves extraordinary expressive power at the aperture value at F1.4. For wide angle photography, it ensures excellent brightness with the large F1.4 aperture and a beautiful bokeh effect. Attractive blur effect Correction of coma aberration enabled less blur on a point light source

Model overview based on user reviews
The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art HSM DG lens is highly praised for its exceptional sharpness and beautiful bokeh, making it a popular choice among photographers. Users appreciate its solid construction and high-quality materials, although some find it a bit heavy. The lens performs well with a working aperture of 1.4 and offers consistent results. While some users note a slight yellowish cast requiring color correction, the overall image quality is impressive, with bright and pleasing colors. Autofocus is generally reliable, though there are occasional compatibility issues with certain camera models. Despite these minor drawbacks, the lens is recommended for those seeking a versatile 35mm focal length.

if you understand what you will use it for, then I definitely advise you to take it. The 35mm focal length is suitable for most situations, but there are some limitations. aperture, excellent picture quality, sharpness - all this is about this lens. my full review: http://olegasphoto.com.ua/index.php/obzor-obektiva-sigma-af-35mm-f1-4-dg-hsm-razvernutyiy-otzyiv/

great model, I really liked it
9 January 2014
I've been using it for about half a year now. A very good lens. I’m using it on crop for now, maybe it doesn’t give out its full potential as it would on FF, but I’m still happy with it! During all the time I used it, there were no problems with it. I recommend it to anyone who needs such a focal length!
1.4 is really working. Autofocus is quite tenacious.
Haven't discovered it yet. The weight doesn't bother him at all

good model, liked it
15 June 2014
I read the reviews and bought this lens. I haven't fully understood it yet, but here are my impressions. The lens has a yellowish cast, requiring corrections with bracketing or setting the WB. It doesn't convey mid-tones and colors like Canon lenses, lacking a "premium" color feel, and brightens everything. In hand, it feels like a piece of metal (not heavy but dense, something like that). It has a small lens hood. The skin tone rendering is pleasant, without dermatological issues. Colors are bright and pleasing. Sharp from 1.4 across the frame (fact). Fairly fast focus. It fits snugly on the mount. The focus ring is very smooth. Build quality is high. Shooting results are consistent. It offers nice bokeh at 35mm focal length. I moved this device from the 60D to the 70D and the problems started. Constant focusing misses (it was stable on the 60D). I think it's all due to the 70D software, and I also read about incompatibility with the Mark 3. :(
Stable result.
