A slightly simplified version of the full-frame mirrorless camera, the Panasonic SC-S1 II, features a regular image sensor instead of a partially stacked (i.e., layered) one. The sensor here has an effective resolution of 24 MP and is mounted on a stabilizing gimbal, which provides up to 8 stops of shutter speed or exposure compensation. As is typical for Panasonic mirrorless cameras, the focus of the model is on extended video capabilities.

The camera can record video in 5.8K at 30 fps and C4K at 60 fps in Apple ProRes RAW HQ / ProRes RAW directly onto CFexpress Type B memory cards. For focusing, an enhanced autofocus system is utilized, featuring AI-based face, people, and eye recognition. For capturing various activities, an Urban Sports automatic focusing mode is available. The onboard equipment of the Panasonic DC-S1E II body includes a 3-inch touchscreen on a swivel hinge, a high-resolution OLED viewfinder, ports for connecting an external microphone and wired headphones. The camera is built on a magnesium alloy chassis with reliable dust and moisture protection. In the "body" configuration, the model is supplied without an interchangeable lens.
