The family of advanced-level processors, based on the Arrow Lake architecture (3-nm process technology) and designed for the next-generation processor socket LGA 1851, introduced in 2024. According to the manufacturer, they represent a radical update to Intel's lineup, which, in addition to architectural improvements, is meant to mark a new era for the brand's desktop processors.

Therefore, for the first time in many years, the company has changed the line's name from the familiar Intel Core to Core Ultra. The Core Ultra 7 series includes several related processors with a similar core configuration, including 8 performance cores P-cores Lion Cove and 12 efficient E-cores Skymont. P-cores operate at a base frequency of 4.2 GHz and can boost up to 5.2 GHz, while E-cores operate at 3.3 GHz with a boost capacity up to 4.6 GHz.

The L3 cache size is 24 MB. However, Intel has abandoned support for Hyper-Threading technology, resulting in a lower number of concurrent data streams than Intel Core processors of the previous generation, limited to 20 threads. According to Intel, this is due to the increased overall number of cores, increased per-core performance, and the desire to reduce the overall power consumption of Core Ultra processors.

Instead, Intel has focused on developing artificial intelligence technologies, equipping Core Ultra 7 processors with a dedicated NPU block with a claimed capacity of 13 TOPS. It is supposed to enhance the processor's performance in text generation, photo and video processing, and solving other AI tasks, which will be implemented in Microsoft Copilot. Additionally, the Core Ultra 7 series has enhancements in the performance of integrated GPU Intel Arc, supports fast RAM DDR5-6400, and can use the PCIe 5.0 interface to increase data exchange speed with other PC components.
