Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core i5 Comet Lake series offers a range of processors that are highly praised for their performance, affordability, and cooling efficiency. Users appreciate the excellent productivity and gaming capabilities, with many noting significant FPS improvements in games like Battlefield 5 and Metro Exodus. The processors are described as cold and efficient, often not requiring advanced cooling solutions. While some users mention the price as a potential downside, they generally find it justified given the performance. The i5-10600K and i5-10400F models are particularly highlighted for their overclocking potential and value for money. However, there are occasional reports of faulty units and issues with warranty claims. Overall, the Intel Core i5 Comet Lake series is recommended for those seeking a reliable and powerful processor for both gaming and productivity tasks.

A good percentage for your money.

Excellent percent. Cold, productive, the price is quite good. Yes, yes, Amude top and all things, better, cooler and more. I have been using Intel processors since the very first PC and I was 100% satisfied with everything, and now I am completely satisfied. I recommend to buy this pro.
Good percent. Productive. For games and work with the same Adobe Premier is very suitable.
Didn't notice.

As far as I remember, I have always used Intel (yes, I have no experience with AMD). I will say as a person who is not engaged in overclocking, I have no complaints about this company and never had it. I took 10400f BOX + RTX3060 and am completely satisfied. And by the way, a boxed cooler will do for the first time! In games (Cyberpunk and RDR2) On ultras, the temperature does not exceed 70!
Great processor for the money. The box cooler does a good job!

For the money this is a top processor in terms of price/quality ratio.

It was purchased at DNS on sale for 14k and this is a very reasonable price for such a powerful processor
Unlocked multiplier and correspondingly high frequency
High TDP, but in games and under loads with various programs the temperature does not rise above 80 degrees with a maximum of 100 degrees, even in the stress test from Aida it does not rise above 80! It costs a cheap Gammax for cooling and it is enough; throttling appears only in OCCT in tests.

Intel adopts AMD tactics

The brand new 6-core/12-thread Core i5 10400, which was released as part of the Intel Comet Lake family, is one of the most powerful processors in the sub-$200 category. Moreover, it gets into it quite back to back due to the F-version of the processor, in which the graphics core is disabled and, accordingly, the price tag is slightly lower. It seems that AMD and Intel have finally switched roles, the former are now taking the rap for technical progress, while the latter are lagging behind on all fronts, however, they keep the public's interest due to the constant price reduction.

A worthy competitor to the Ryzen 5 3600

In addition to the increased number of computing units, the Comet Lake family has acquired multithreading support, slightly increased the frequencies and volumes of the third level cache, and, of course, moved to the new LGA 1200 socket because ... well, you understand. Here Comes The Money. However, despite the snail's pace of Intel's technical progress, these small improvements, along with price balancing, have made it possible to impose worthy competition on both the past and the current generation of Ryzen. What do we end up with? A bunch of 6 + 6 cores with a maximum clock speed of 4.3 GHz in resource-intensive applications is expectedly inferior to the slightly more expensive bestseller Ryzen 5 3600. However, the gap is relatively small and regardless of the type of task (compiling, rendering, archiving), the advantage of the AMD processor rarely exceeds 15 %.

The optimal chip for a good gaming computer

But in games, the Core i5-10400 wins a landslide victory, providing somewhere around a 10% FPS advantage. The only fly in the ointment was the too soft turbo boost. If the multi-core monsters of the Core i7 in manual mode easily knock out the coveted 5 GHz, the performance of this Core i5 rises very carefully and slowly, which makes it difficult for it to keep even 4 GHz simultaneously on all cores. However, this is not surprising, with such powers of the Core i5, 95% of users would have missed them, and the older Intel series would have become the lot of enthusiasts.
