A near-top 16-core processor, shown in the fall of 2022 as part of the presentation of the 13th generation of Intel processors, codenamed Raptor Lake. Manufactured on an optimized 10nm process and designed for installation in LGA 1700 motherboards. It belongs to the upper price segment, designed for demanding gamers, streamers, coders, VFX specialists and other categories of consumers who need really powerful, but not too expensive processor. A feature of the model is the use of a hybrid architecture, in which the cores are divided into 2 groups: high-performance Raptor Cove and auxiliary energy-efficient Gracemont.

The former are involved in serious computing tasks, the latter work in the wings when solving simple background tasks. Core i7-13700K consists of these 16 cores (8P + 8E) clocked at 2.5GHz to 3.4GHz and auto-overclocked to 5.4GHz (TurboBoost Max 3.0 technology). Hyper-Threading technology is supported only by P-cores. The unique feature of the chip lies in its ability to work with both DDR4 and more modern DDR5 RAM.

The maximum clock frequency for DDR4 is 3200 MHz, for DDR5 - 5600 MHz. The maximum amount of RAM can be 128 GB. The processor is designed to be installed in a motherboard with a Socket 1700 socket, which is also compatible with 12th generation Intel processors. In the maximum load mode, the declared power dissipation is an impressive 253 W, so a powerful power supply and a high-quality cooling system are required in pair with the chip.
