I got the I7 3930k CPU with 32GB ram in 2013, for roughly €240. I mainly built a setup with this CPU for graphics work. Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, Nikon Capture, and others. Before this, I used a laptop with a Core i5 2430 CPU and 8GB ram. What can I say, converting raw files (Nikon D800 raw 14 bit) in Capture One is 10 times faster. I was especially impressed with the I7 3930k CPU in batch processing. The laptop with the Core i5 2430 would choke and stop working after converting 3-4 files. The setup with the I7 3930k can handle batch processing of even 100-1000 files without slowing down. The conversion speed doesn’t drop at all. I honestly believe one could build a mid-performance server with this CPU. Practically does not heat up. High flow Rate. High price use Intel Core i7 Sandy Bridge-E month or more i recommend it should buy |
