Model overview based on user reviews
The JBL One Series 104 speakers are compact, active near-field monitors designed for desktop use, featuring a high-quality assembly and small size with two input options. While they offer a decent sound experience for their size, users have noted a hissing sound at higher volumes and a lack of detailed instrument separation. The speakers are not ideal for professional studio work due to their inferior sound and limited bass, but they can be suitable for casual listening or specific applications like video editing. Some users have experienced issues with rattling and find the sound character to be lacking compared to other brands like Edifier. Overall, these speakers are best suited for those who need compact monitors for specific tasks rather than high-fidelity audio experiences.

This model has inferior sound. And when connected via a balanced input, it is also quiet. Really. Through the tulips from the speakers you can get maximum volume, and through the jacks - about 50% percent with the volume controls turned up to full. At full volume, a hiss appears. The sound is weak, not particularly intelligible, with all the limitations of small speakers in a tiny cabinet, respectively, low frequencies are present, but nominally, but at a frequency of 120-130 Hz there is a bright splash, which really makes it difficult to evaluate the sound adequately. Due to their small size, these desktop speakers are located much lower than the user’s head and a good half of the sound is lost; to work with them more comfortably, it is necessary to place them on stands. The product is strange: they are not suitable for ordinary multimedia due to the dry, bass-free sound; for work in the studio, the sound is inferior. The only real area of application is working with the director's voice. They are comfortable here, although you will have to get used to the sound. Useful for video directors and bloggers. Maybe I can make some sketches. Before you consider purchasing these monitors, consider what they can be used for. And by the way, in my case, the left speaker rattles slightly. The build quality is a plus; the speakers are heavy, dense, with a rubber base; despite their shape, they stand firmly on the table. High-quality assembly, small size, two inputs Sound use JBL One Series 104 week i recommend it don't buy |
They are absolutely not worth the money, especially considering the signal-to-noise ratio that the manufacturer states for supposedly Reference Monitors. Edifier is much better at a lower price. I got this "wonder" for 8.5k, but it would have been disappointing to pay 10-12k as specialized stores ask. Listening to live concert recordings on them is nice, of course, but not much more than that. P.S. Avoid everything that fell under the roller named Harman Kardon or whatever they're called, especially since the biggest disappointment happened with AKG because of them. Size and power for such dimensions, out-of-the-box scene right away, leading right speaker, removable and standard 220 cable, volume control backlight The background is silent, with a hissing sound coming to the ears, there's no sense of any special instrument detailing at all, that headphones like AxelVox can provide. |
I really liked it, I quickly got used to the sound character There is a Yamaha XC 5, the price difference is greater than the sound A little hissing is quite possible to mix uncritically |
