Model overview based on user reviews
The Kingston XS2000 SSD is praised for its compact size, lightweight design, and affordability. It performs well for tasks like launching games and operating systems, and is particularly effective for backups and running software. However, users have noted that the write speed can be inconsistent, especially after filling 15-30% of the disk's capacity, with speeds dropping significantly. While the SSD maintains a stable read speed, the recording speed becomes erratic beyond a certain point, which is a concern for those needing consistent performance. Despite these issues, the SSD is generally seen as a good value for its price, though some users are considering returns due to the speed discrepancies and unreliable performance metrics.

Good SSD. It performs well, being divided into 3 logical drives. Easily handles the launch of games and the operating system. Price, size, quality, speed The speed of the recording is clear on the length of 15% of the total volume on the disk. That spool in new files of 400 GB will not be easy. |
Satisfied with a bad disk, especially software. Trimae declared 2 GB / s in benchmarks as part of the SLC cache, which is approximately 15% of the total volume. Therefore, let it go, as if you are planning to shoot 100 GB archives into the disk and if you want to save speed, then you will need at least 1 TB and, more likely, 2 TB. Lightweight, flexible, not expensive For its price - duzhe norms |
For such money, such instability of speeds (especially recording) is unacceptable already at the filling of only 1/4-1/3 of the disk capacity. Letting the disk "rest" and clearing the cache doesn't help much. After reading imported reviews and comparisons of this disc with others, I found out that such work is due to the compromises made by the engineers. Communication with the support ended with the fact that after the photo tests they quickly disappeared from the air. I really do not recommend. Another 14 days have not passed. I'll try to return it, although I doubt it will work. Compact, lightweight, reading speed is quite stable. I checked the truth on USB 3.2 gen 2X1 (devices on gen 2x2 were not found), because the ceiling of my speed could only be 1000 mb / s. Testing on a MacBook Air M1 and on a Dell Latitude laptop gave about 700-800 MB / s read speed for the first 300 GB of disk filling and about 500 MB / s for the remaining 300-1000 GB. I was very upset by the fact that everything is very unstable with the recording speed. The first 250-300 GB of disk space actually writes about 700-800 MB / second quite stably. Crossing the filling mark of 250-300 GB further, the recording speed becomes spasmodic and drops down to 25-90 mb / s. The average (if you throw in 20 GB of large or small files) will be about 120 MB / s, which cannot but upset. Kingston's native disk health monitoring app gives weird "spare blocks" data. At first they are 100%, you fill the disk with 150 GB and there are about 1-5% of them left. You format the disk and again back to 99-100%. It turns out that this parameter is measured unrealistically. It would be all the same if it were not found out that the manufacturer's warranty of 5 years is oriented to 5 years maximum, provided that the wear indicator and some other measured by this programme did not reach the figure of 1%. Judging by how this programme changes the readings up / down, it has little faith. |
