Compact and relatively light portable circular saw for straight cuts in hard materials. Designed for professional and home use. It has a standard transverse engine layout. The power of the electric drive reaches 1200 W, which provides a disk rotation speed of up to 5200 rpm. This is sufficient for sawing wood (including hardwood), plywood, fibreboard and chipboard, sandwich panels, chipboard, laminate, thermoplastics and non-ferrous metals.

Designed for discs with a diameter of 190 mm with a seat of 30 mm. The quality of the cut depends on the type of saw blades used, and the powerful motor guarantees consistently high cutting speeds. Equipped with a rigid die-cast aluminium sole. The weight of the Makita HS7601 saw is only 4 kg, which does not overload the hands and saves strength during long-term work.

Has a comfortable handle with a rubber-like coating. The motor is reliably protected from dust and equipped with a powerful and durable thrust bearing. The maximum depth of cut is 66 mm for straight cuts. When working at an angle of 45°, the depth is 46 mm. It has a relatively low noise level and acceptable vibration indicators. Equipped with a high-quality 2.5-metre electrical cable in double insulation. Complete with 12 tooth saw blade, parallel stop, vacuum cleaner connection and hex wrench.

Saws: types, purpose and selection tipsA brief overview of different types of saws and sawing machines with tips on choosing the right tools
Model overview based on user reviews
The Makita HS7601 circular saw is highly praised for its lightweight design and powerful performance, making it a top choice for both hobbyists and semi-professional carpenters. Users appreciate its comfortable handling and well-balanced structure, with rubberized grips enhancing user comfort. The saw's quality construction, including a cast base and flexible power cord, reflects its reputable brand. However, some users note the lack of a cutting depth scale in centimeters and suggest upgrading the blade for finer cuts, as the included 12-tooth blade is better suited for rough cutting. Overall, the Makita HS7601 is considered a high-quality tool that delivers excellent results, especially when paired with additional blades for specific tasks.

High-quality hand-held circular saw
26 April 2017
My passion for carpentry, which has grown into semi-professional furniture making, began a long time ago. My grandfather was a carpenter. So, now this is my second profession and simultaneously a hobby. I bought this saw primarily for cutting chipboard.
It's damn nice to hold a really good tool in your hands. You can immediately feel the class; this isn't just another Chinese no-name brand, it's a top-tier manufacturer. The saw is light, only 4 kilograms, yet it has plenty of power. Cutting even thick chipboard barely affects the rotation speed; the sound changes, sure, but the cutting speed doesn't drop. Everything about it is designed to be comfortable and convenient to use. It's well-balanced, with mandatory rubberized grips where your hands hold it. All the controls and adjustments are convenient and spot-on. The power cord isn't particularly long, just 2 meters, but it's very flexible and springy. This is something you only find in branded equipment. The quality cast base also commands respect; a lot depends on it, and it doesn't let you down.
The 12-tooth set blade is only good for rough cutting. I tested it on chipboard scraps, of course, but the results were disappointing. The back side is clean, but the front has numerous chips. I bought a 54-tooth blade, and as they say, it did the job. However, to completely avoid chipping, you still need to cut in two passes. So, for finer work, you need to look for something with more teeth and, if possible, carbide-tipped.
great model, love it

I decided to buy my own personal saw, I hadn’t used someone else’s saw very much before, it was Bosch, I was thinking about buying a Bosch too, but I was smart enough to go to the store and try out all the possible saws there, and Bosch and China are all different, but nothing slipped into my mind so well hand like Makita, in general I really liked this model, how it fits in the hand and the weight distribution. Working with this saw is a pleasure; the power is really enough to cut boards both crosswise and lengthwise. I am very pleased with this purchase, especially since I was lucky and included 2 discs, at a minimum price
Lightweight, comfortable, high quality
There is no scale in cm of cutting depth
