Brushless cordless circular

The Makita DHS661ZU saw is equipped with a brushless motor. This type of electric motor is characterized by reduced weight. Therefore, the saw turned out to be compact and light. It weighs 2.53 kg without battery (or 2.9 to 3.2 kg with battery, depending on its capacity). In addition, brushless motors provide longer runtime per charge (an important factor if you plan to work where there is no way to recharge the battery). Plus, add to this a lot of useful and pleasant functions that this circular has: electronic engine protection, “soft start” and maintaining speed under load.

Ordinary design, unusual functions

In terms of cutting depth (57 mm) and angle of inclination of the sole (50 °), this saw does not stand out among other manual circular saws. These are normal characteristics and allow for typical cutting of sheet materials and cutting boards used in construction and joinery. Convenient adjustments allow you to make precise straight and beveled cuts. The LED backlight helps you work in dimly lit areas. Only loud noise from the gearbox interferes (104 dB is noisy compared to other hand saws), so it makes sense to constantly use protective headphones.

The saw has an interesting wireless activation feature. It can communicate via Bluetooth with the vacuum cleaner. When you press the start button, the circular and the vacuum cleaner start at the same time, release the button — both devices turn off together. Do you think that such "excesses" are not needed on a working tool? Then take exactly the same Makita DHS660Z saw without a Bluetooth module, but it’s not a fact that you can save money.

Classic Makita: quality and reliability, but not very cheap

Makita cordless saws are suitable for both construction sites and carpentry workshops. The reliability and performance of this brand of tools, multiplied by the absence of wires, will make work easier and more enjoyable. The only thing that can overshadow your joy from owning such a saw is its price.
