Carpentry cordless chain saw

The Makita DUC355Z saw, of course, is not designed for logging (there are chainsaws for this). Her element is construction work and gardening. Thanks to the brushless motor, it is highly performant for medium-duty tasks, such as cutting boards and beams, sawing logs, or sawing live and dry branches from trees. The high chain speed (up to 20 m/s) ensures a clean cut, especially important when performing carpentry work that requires accuracy and precision (for example, fitting parts of prefabricated wooden structures).

Versatility and interchangeability

The saw runs on two 18-volt batteries. With 6 Ah batteries, it can make up to 250 cross cuts on a wooden beam measuring 50x100 mm. Batteries in the LXT range are widely available and are sure to be in the arsenal of any builder or DIYer using a Makita cordless tool. Batteries themselves are not included, they must be purchased separately. The saw is equipped with a 350 mm blade, but you can also install a bar of a different size (from 300 to 400 mm).

The best option for builders

The Makita DUC355Z saw is expensive, and there is no point in buying it for home use. But for professional roofers and craftsmen involved in the construction of frame houses, it is perhaps the best option. It should also be considered as a “partner” to your main electric saw, capable of replacing its network “colleague” when working on the road or in hard-to-reach places.
