Video reviews

The flagship mirrorless camera in dust- and moisture-proof design got all the best. Actually, that's why it is one of the most expensive solutions among cameras with a cropped matrix.

Ergonomics

In the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, almost any parameter is configured and adjusted, the main thing is to understand the slightly confusing menu. In terms of the convenience of a grip in the hand, the mirrorless camera leaves far behind other rivals, however, you can’t name a particularly compact camera. The magnesium alloy "carcass" shows on the scales 574 g, which roughly corresponds to the weight of entry-level DSLRs. The camera is equipped with a dual slot for memory cards, one of which supports a high-speed UHS-II interface(guarantees a stable recording speed of information at a speed of at least 30 Mb / s).

Heavy artillery

The mirrorless is armed with a 20 MP Micro 3/4 format matrix with a sensitivity range of 100-25600 ISO. Working ISO values are up to 3200-6400 units, at higher numbers the picture may be too “blurred”. Also “under the hood” of Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II there is a 5-axis matrix stub (allows you to compensate for 5.5 stops of exposure, one more step is added when working in conjunction with Olympus Pro series lenses).

Record holder in rate of fire

Perhaps the camera is the No. 1 contender among mirrorless cameras for use as a serious reporting tool. With a mechanical shutter, the continuous shooting speed reaches 15 fps, and with an electronic shutter, the camera's rate of fire rises to an impressive 60 fps, which is already comparable to video shooting parameters. Such a large acceleration is achieved in the Pro Capture mode, designed for shooting fast-moving scenes and events whose beginning is difficult to accurately predict.

Arguments for"

For sighting in the process of taking pictures and when shooting video at resolutions up to 4096x2160 pixels (Cinema 4K), a 3-inch rotary display with touch input support or a large OLED viewfinder with a high refresh rate (120 fps) are used. An important argument "for" when choosing a camera is also a wide fleet of interchangeable optics for the Micro 4/3 system, which includes lenses for all possible shooting scenes.
