Now, to greatly extend your creative possibilities, the LUMIX GH5S takes this even further to include Cinema 4K (C4K: 4096 x 2160) 60p/50p video recording. The LUMIX GH5S brings game changing internal 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K video recording. For example, 10-bit will render all the subtleties of graduated skies and sunsets without the banding so prone to 8-bit. A neutral or flat logarithmic ("log") gamma curve captures wide dynamic range pictures ideal for colour grading. Plus, a LUT Display function assists your exposure and helps to show directorial intent (e.g., use V-log to Rec.709 LUT for an HDTV look). Hdr (High Dynamic Range) is a mode to reproduce both the bright parts and dark parts of an image, making it look just as the human eyes see it. You can choose hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) in photo style. The LUMIX GH5S sensor handles multiple aspect ratios. 4:3, 17:9, 16:9 and 3:2. Thanks to broad margins of effective pixels, focal length does not change in these aspect ratios. To elevate video expressivity even further, a variety of effects are available on the LUMIX GH5S. The VFR lets you record over cranked / under cranked videos in C4K/4K (60-fps maximum 2.5x slower*) or FHD (240-fps maximum 10x slower*) quality. The LUMIX GH5S is capable of 4:2:2 10-bit real-time image output to an external monitor or recorder via an optional HDMI cable (full size Type A), while simultaneously providing an internal 4:2:2 10-bit recording. The time Code can be synchronized with an external device by using the bundled BNC Conversion cable. This enables easier non-linear timeline editing of footage shot with multiple cameras. Compatible with the new “LUMIX Tether for Streaming (Beta)” software program for PC

The "chip" of most Panasonic mirrorless cameras is advanced video capabilities. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH5 camera has the greatest potential in video recording.

4K video

The camera acquired a 20-megapixel matrix and a fast image processor, thanks to which it became possible to record video from the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe matrix (for the camera's predecessor, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4), 4K videos were recorded with a small crop). In UltraHD resolution (3840x2160 pixels), shooting with a frame rate of up to 60 fps is available. And if you lower the frame rate to 30 fps, then the operator will be able to record video in 10-bit colour with colour subsampling 4:2:2. In fact, this allows you to do the deepest possible colour correction of the footage during its post-processing (if you have the appropriate software). In the more familiar FullHD format for the masses, shooting is carried out with a frame rate of up to 180 fps.

Stabilization

In the vast majority of cases, photo and video shooting can be done hand-held — the 5-axis matrix stabilization system effectively compensates for camera shake and hand shake of the operator. If you get stabilized optics, then it becomes possible to win more than 5 stops of exposure.

Pseudo SLR

Externally, the camera began to look more like a DSLR than more compact system cameras. However, in the presence of dust and water protection, as well as frost resistance of the case, a dual slot for memory cards, many programmable keys and outputs for connecting third-party devices, a rotary touch screen and a detailed electronic viewfinder with an impressive resolution of 1280x960 pixels, the dimensions of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH5 cease to seem large.

Decent result

The autofocus system of the camera has 225 contrast-type points that catch the subject in 0.05 s and do an excellent job in tracking mode. As far as high ISO performance is concerned, Micro 4/3 cameras have not yet learned to show outstanding results when increasing the ISO value above ISO 3200. Up to this figure, the amount of noise in the picture is at an acceptable level. A more affordable alternative to the "five" is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4, which, although it has lost its position with the release of the successor, still remains a very good acquisition for photo and video shooting.
