In full-frame equivalent, the model covers a focal length range from 100 to 400 mm, while it boasts a high aperture of f / 2.8-4.0. When focusing and zooming, the lens body does not change in size - its dimensions are 132 x 76 mm. The telephoto zoom weighs 655 g. Panasonic DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f / 2.8-4.0 ASPH Power OIS has a complex optical scheme consisting of 21 elements in 15 groups.

It includes two aspherical lenses, two ED elements and two UED glasses. Additionally, the lenses are coated with Nano Surface Coating. The lens has a Power OIS optical image stabilization system, which can work together with the in-camera matrix stabilization in Dual I.S. mode. The model focuses from a distance of 75 cm. As for the aperture design, it has 9 blades - together with the high aperture ratio, you can count on effective background blur when shooting with a shallow depth of field.
