In 2024, Samsung, in addition to the familiar Galaxy Watch7 and the rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra, introduced a new line of smartwatches - Galaxy Watch FE (Fan Edition). FE smartphones have already become popular with users, and now Samsung has decided to please fans with a wearable device. The model turned out to be successful, offering the functions of expensive watches for a more affordable price, which makes it an excellent choice for getting to know the Samsung ecosystem or for those who do not want to overpay for a flagship.

Universal model

The Galaxy Watch FE comes in one size — 40 mm with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display. The watch weighs about 27 g and features a compact and comfortable design. The manufacturer did not skimp on materials: the case is made of aluminum, and the display is protected by sapphire crystal. The model has an IP68 protection class and complies with the military standard MIL-STD-810H, which makes it suitable for active users and extreme sports enthusiasts. The unisex design of the watch is suitable for everyone, but the delicate shades of the straps, such as blue and pink, are designed more for a female audience.

The screen is surrounded by a noticeable frame - a compromise for the sake of affordability, but the display itself is high-quality, with bright colors and good visibility even outdoors.

Functional features

The Galaxy Watch FE is powered by the Exynos W920 processor, known from the flagship Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The device's performance allows for quick launch of apps and smooth operation of the interface. The watch runs on Wear OS, supports Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 4, and has 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and NFC for contactless payments. The watch is equipped with a 247 mAh battery with wireless charging and holds a charge for several days depending on use. However, unlike the older models, there is no microphone or speaker, so you cannot answer calls through the watch.

To monitor health and activity, the watch offers a wide range of sensors: heart rate, blood oxygen, energy expenditure, sleep and training. The BioActive sensor measures blood pressure and can take an ECG (not available in all regions). It is important to remember that this is not a medical device, and the data is advisory in nature. Unfortunately, there is no female calendar function for tracking the cycle and pregnancy.
