— most of these models are scaled down versions of 5.1 multi-channel systems. They have a centre channel, two front channels and a subwoofer, and the illusion of rear channels is provided by sound reflections from the walls behind the listener. Of course, the “volume” of such a sound is generally lower than 5.1, and besides, it depends more on the characteristics of the room; but for cramped conditions where it makes no sense to install a five-channel system, 3.1 may be a good option.| clear | Save List |
