Linear array

— a line array is a characteristic vertical "bunch" of several columns. Due to the high height of such an array, the characteristics of the propagation of sound waves change, which makes it possible to cover vast spaces with loud high-quality sound — this is extremely important for concert acoustics (see "Purpose"). At the same time, the "bunches" are difficult to install and are expensive, and at a short distance from the column, the described advantages are invisible. Therefore, in other types of speakers, except for concert ones, this option is not found.
