Jack (6.35 mm)

— the “big brother” of the 3.5 mm mini-jack connector, which is installed mainly in stationary audio equipment. It is most commonly used in a similar way for analogue line-level audio; however, it is considered more advanced because it provides greater connection reliability, tighter contact and less likelihood of interference on the connector. In addition, theoretically, this connector is even suitable for balanced connection, although in fact XLR is more often used for this purpose (see the relevant paragraph).
