Closed acoustic systems
— speakers in which all speakers are made in traditional closed cases; in other words, models that do not have other features from this list (phase inverter, labyrinth, passive radiator — see the relevant paragraphs).
Speakers in cases of this type are as simple as possible to manufacture and, as a result, inexpensive. However in terms of power and sound saturation (especially in the low frequency range), they are usually inferior to similar models with additional acoustic equipment; on the other hand, this point is not always fundamental. So, not all users really need intense bass; and if there is such a need, you can choose a kit with a subwoofer or buy a “sub” separately. And in advanced acoustics, the necessary bass saturation can be achieved without the use of additional equipment — due to the characteristics of materials and other design tricks.
