— “Liquid chalk” in a marker format: a water-based suspension that leaves a bright, opaque line and wipes off easily with water and a little cleaner when used on glass, plastic, enamel, or a lacquered chalkboard surface. Pros: neat results and smudge resistance after drying. Cons: risk of ghosting on uncoated porous boards and the need to cap the marker so the tip doesn’t dry out. Compared to dry chalk, chalk markers give a more even outline and richer color; compared to regular markers, they’re gentler on boards and better for temporary notes. Popular for wedding signs and events, at-home plans and checklists, price tags and POS displays, and kids’ crafts. To protect your board, use only a non-porous surface or a special lacquer coating and wipe messages off promptly.
