Alder Lake processors
Intel Alder Lake (12th Gen)
— family of 12th generation 10nm Intel Core desktop processors based on a new hybrid architecture that combines two types of cores — high-performance Performance Cores on the Golden Cove microarchitecture and energy-efficient Efficient Cores with Gracemont cores. They operate at different clock speeds and have different cache sizes. The joint work of the two new microarchitectures is provided by Intel Thread Director technology, which allows the computer operating system to place the right thread in a specific core at the right time. Also, Alder Lake processors got support for the PCI Express 5.0 interface (16 lanes) and DDR5 RAM. Desktops of the 12th generation are made under the LGA 1700 processor socket, they support Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4.
